Pas par le film, bien évidemment, mais plutôt par la difficulté à joindre les principaux responsables de ce troisième volet. Quand je vois que Joe Alves peut tartiner des heures et des heures sur les deux premiers Jaws et est incapable de se souvenir de la moindre anecdote concernant Jaws 3D, ça me rend malade. Bon, on va quand même mettre un terme à cet article en deux parties sur le modèle d’exposition Bruce III « SeaWorld Orlando« . Voici donc un cliché extrêmement rare pris par le photographe officiel du parc Chris Gotshall et paru dans la presse au mois de juillet 1983 (avant la sortie du film en salles). Orlando,FL- Bruce, the 25-FT, great white shark that will terrorize this summer’s movie goers in Jaws 3D is now on exhibit at Sea World. Two young visitors don’t show much fear of the polyurethane elastomer nemesis that is displayed on the north shore of the Atlantis Lagoon along with other sharks, a scale model of the Undersea Kingdom and other props and set pieces from the feature length film, due for release July 22. Sea World, the filming site of Jaws 3D is located at I-4 and the Bee Line Expressway between Orlando and Walt Disney World/Epcot.
Toujours sceptique quand à la probabilité que ce monstre soit celui qui apparait dans le film, j’ai pris la liberté de demander à Chris Gotshall de nous éclairer:
« That’s funny! How did you ever find me? When I took those photos I was working for SeaWorld of Florida and they have all the images.So that’s the one from e-bay? That shark was actually one of the movie props that was left behind and displayed at SeaWorld for awhile after the production ended. They had the world premier of the movie at the park in the Sea World theater. It was a benefit for Adam Walsh’s foundation ».
Ce modèle est donc bien celui qui apparait dans le film… Ce qui rend encore plus complexe le débat 25/35 ft soit dit en passant.
Je vous laisse donc avec cet autre cliché et ces deux pages promotionnelles tirées d’un programme du Sea World d’ Orlando. N’hésitez pas à m’envoyer vos messages de soutien et vos dons et continuez surtout à parler de Jaws 3D (et du site) à vos amis. Peut-être cachent-ils des merveilles à la gloire des Dents de la mer 3 dans leurs greniers (comme ici ou là par exemple)

You have a really great website here! Well done for all the hard work you’ve obviously put in to it. Looking at the above photographs, I still can’t believe that that is « THE shark » or even a « prop » used in the film « JAWS 3D » simply because the coloring of the shark in these photos does not match those of the one model used in the film. I noticed this because that has always been something that bothers me about the film. The coloring used on this shark does not match that of a real great white shark. It surprises me because Joe Alves was head of the production design department for « JAWS » and « JAWS 2 » so how could he possibly get something like that so wrong for his own directorial debut?
I’m pretty sure that Bruce III « sea World Orlando » has been re-painted for exhibition. I agree with you: the colour does not match with the shark in the movie.
