Jaws 3D par Romain Néophyte

Le très généreux Rupert Hitzig, (connu bien évidemment pour son rôle de producteur et de réalisateur de seconde équipe sur Jaws 3D) a accepté de nous envoyer ces quelques mots à propos de son ami Chris J. Condon malheureusement disparu le 19 décembre dernier des suites d’ un problème cardiaque… Leur collaboration, qui fait partie des grands moment de l’ histoire du cinéma 3D, fera l’ objet d’ un prochain article dans le courant 2011. En attendant, remercions chaleureusement notre « collaborateur régulier » pour sa disponibilité et son enthousiasme…

« For a few months, I was considered the foremost expert on 3-D, second only to Chris Condon, who was my mentor. He was the king of the medium, and for awhile we were going to use his camera system. Choosing the camera for the film was not easy. We flirted with Optimax, Condon, and then decided to work with Arriflex to develop a light weight (comparatively) camera that could shoot over and under on the same frame. Chris was helpful and not at all upset when we moved away from his system. He was a gentle man, and a brilliant engineer when it came to 3-D. I am better off today for knowing him then.«
