Jaws 3D par Romain Néophyte

« Romain, entre la récente sortie en salles du pénible Piranha 3D d’ Alexandre Aja et la commercialisation du blu-ray de la version 78, le nom de Joe Dante semble être sur toutes les lèvres. Pourquoi ne pas profiter de l’ occasion pour revenir sur son désormais célèbre Jaws 3 people 0? » Effectivement, le réalisateur de Gremlins donne l’ agréable impression d’ être partout en ce moment. En témoigne cette interview donnée à Jason Bene du site Killerfilm le mois dernier où le cas Jaws 3 People 0 est brièvement abordé:
J D: I worked on Jaws 3, People 0, which was the one that didn’t get made by National Lampoon. They [Universal] were very, very jealous of their tentpole. The reason they didn’t make that picture was they didn’t want to make fun of their meal ticket. The National Lampoon people kept wanting to make it zanier and the producers [Zanuck/Brown] said, “we got to play this straight.” You don’t plan a picture with a title like Jaws 3, People 0 and play it straight. You can’t. There was a tremendous amount of back and forth on that picture as to what kind of movie it was going to be. Ultimately, it was abandoned which was good for me because I went on to do The Howling.
J B: They did end up making a comedy called Jaws: The Revenge.
J D: I don’t think that was intended.

Bien évidemment, ces quelques lignes peuvent paraitre un peu maigre mais Jaws 3 People 0 est un projet si énigmatique que la moindre information doit être considéré comme un trésor.
