Inside the ambulance « deleted scene » (sean & kelly)

En comparaison des deux premiers films de la saga, Jaws 3D est relativement court. Mais sa faible durée (97 minutes) est à mettre avant tout sur le compte du procédé 3D qui, dans les années 80, demandait aux spectateurs un effort particulier et occasionnait la plupart du temps une fatigue visuelle assez prononcée. Aucun réalisateur ne pouvait donc se permettre les extravagances d’un Avatar (2H41 quand même). C’est certainement pour cette raison que Jaws 3D semble ne pas vouloir s’attarder sur certains pans de l’histoire… La love story entre Sean Brody et Kelly Ann Bukowski méritait donc mieux que cette fin abrupte aux portes de l’ambulance. Soit un bref échange entre les frères Brody (Sean: « i’m gonna go with kelly« /Mike:« I think you should« ) , une main sur l’épaule en guise de réconfort et une belle occasion de perdue de faire monter les larmes aux shippers que nous sommes…Mais depuis quelques jours et grâce aux propos de John Putch (que je vous invite à relire), nous savons qu’une scène se déroulant dans le véhicule a bel et bien été tournée.
Vous souhaitiez une preuve matérielle? Remerciez donc le désormais réalisateur John Putch pour cette magnifique photographie qui pourrait très bien se passer de tout commentaire. Un cliché promo inédit qui rassurera les fans de Lea Thompson quant à l’état de santé de la charmante Kelly qui, rappelons-le, périssait dans les premières versions du script! Il me semble que dans la version française, Mike dit exactement le contraire à Sean: « Je te le déconseille »…
One of the many cool things about this scene was Michael insisting that Sean go with Kelly. Remembering what had happened before in the first two films, I could tell that Michael did NOT want history to repeat itself. The performance given by Dennis Quaid and John Putch really showed how much the Brody brothers loved each other and how protective they were of one another. By keeping Sean out of harm’s way, it allowed Michael and his friends to focus on rescuing the people trapped in the undersea corridor and stopping the shark once and for all.
Even the late Simon Mackorindale and P.H. Moriarty did an excellent job in this scene, too. You could tell that both of them were shocked, scared, and outraged at what the Great White Shark had nearly done. Emotions were certainly running high in this part of the film.
That’s the mark excellent acting!
